Khaled Hosseini's 'The Kite Runner' has been voted the Reading Group Book Of The Year for the third base year running in a poll of web voters and volume clubs.
Hosseini's indorsement novel, 'One Thousand Splendid Suns', took second in the vote. It is the third year in a run-in that 'The Kite Runner' has topped this poll, which was done through the Penguin and Orange websites and with readers groups in the UK.
The author aforesaid: "What a thrill it is for me, and indeed what a cracking honor, that The Kite Runner has been selected again as the Penguin/Orange Broadband Reading Group Book of the Year. The writing of this book was a labor of love for me.
"I grew quite attached to the characters and came to care for them in a most personal way."
